PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE TAPE ROBOTIC CELL

MiniFAB

This machine is designed to apply a cut pressure sensitive adhesive film onto a lab-on-a-chip card. With a punch nest, rolling station, heat stamping station, and final electrical connectivity test station, all required to fit in a small footprint, the system is an extremely compact machine. Due to the space restrictions, Cenos has employed a ceiling-mounted Epson RS4 SCARA robot with an integrated vision system, with which has achieved absolute success in the scope of required speed, accuracy, and clean-room compliance.

INJECTION MOLDING ROBOT CELLS

Plastics Industry

Electrical automation system for an automated wheelie bin injection molding machine process and robotic cell. The overall system uses a robot to remove a part from the molding machine then further process the part by removing the sprue, injecting plugs and then stacking the bins. The cycle time of the cell is synchronized with the molding machine cycle time, down to 80 second per wheelie bin. Electrically the overall project included:

OVEN CAVITY BUFFER CELL

Electrolux cooking plant in Dudley Park South Australia contracted us to design, manufacture and install all Electrical hardware for their new oven cavity buffer and delivery system. Oven cavities are created by a special sheet metal forming/bending process, they are then enamelled and presented to an operator. This process happens every 15 seconds.

Our system uniquely identifies the type of oven, and sends it along a conveyor to a robot, which then stores the oven into a dynamic buffer, which is made of roller tracks. The buffer also contains a manual infeed and outfeed station, allowing operators to request loading/unloading of cavities from the buffer. Using a SICK PIM60 vision camera, we can determine the type of oven operators are requesting to be loaded and unloaded.

By using our in-house vision experience an upgrade solution was proposed to the end customer, the solution included the upgrading the electrical, vision and software of the machine

OVEN CAVITY DELIVERY SYSTEM

Electrolux

Electrolux cooking plant in Dudley Park South Australia contracted Cenos to design, manufacture and install all Electrical hardware for their new oven cavity delivery system. Oven’s are stored in a buffer and are transferred to assembly lines on demand.

Our system identifies the type of oven required for five different assembly line drop off points from the factory system. Each oven is extracted from the buffer via the buffer robot and is then lifted into a over-head hanger delivery system. Oven cavity’s are loaded onto the overhead hanger without stoppage, this is done using carefully programmed speed matching.

Once a hanger has been loaded with a specific cavity, the system knows which assembly line to drop the cavity too as each hanger contains an RFID code. As the hanger passes over the delivery point a servo driven scissor lift mechanism is used to transfer the cavity to the assembly line.

OVEN CAVITY ID INSPECTION

The cAMP Cyclic AMP Stimulator is device, designed to provide clinicans with the ability to apply bio-electric waveforms that are programmed to stimulate and generate cyclic AMP utilization. The device uses special function generators to produce high resolution amplitude modulated waveforms.

AUTOMATED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ASSEMBLY AND INSPECTION LINE

This line consists of 6 individual stations to assemble and test various electronic instrument clusters for an automobile platform. Each station is manned by a single operator who loads components and prompts their respective machine as required.

MODULAR PROMOTIONAL FLYER/POSTER PICKING ROBOTIC CELL

Automated cell utilizing a Motoman MPP3 4-axis high speed robot, with modular bays and dividers which allow various sized promotional posters and flyers at a cycle time of 2.5 seconds per pick.

AUTOMATED TEST CARD ASSEMBLY ROBOTIC CELL

This machine is designed to assemble a Test Card, which consists of a lab-on-a-chip card, a capsule and a sheath. The fully automated system is capable of producing upwards of 1000 parts per hour. Through no small part of ingenuity from Cenos Automation engineers, with multiple iterations of design and trials, the end result is a successfully integrated compact system with a variety of functions, including 2 x ABB IRB120 clean-room 6-axis robots, ultrasonic welding, laser etching, bowl feeders, and Omron FH-series vision system and software for both robot integration and various product inspection.

AUTOMATED VEGETABLE CRATE AND SHIPPING FRAME ASSEMBLY ROBOTIC CELL

Handles different parts to create 2 separate timber products – vegetable crates and shipping frames. Leviathan Design was responsible for the design and manufacture of the timber feeding mechanisms and robot end-of-arm tooling (gripper) for the Motoman MH165 6-axis robot.

AUTOMATED FOAM HANDLING AND INSPECTION ROBOTIC CELL

Foam

This line consists of 2 separate robotic cells (but exactly the same in function) working synchronously to process foam components. Each robotic cell employs 1 x Omron FH-series vision system integrated ABB IRB1200 6-axis robot to pick and place foam pads. A complex array of pneumatic systems manipulate the product unto an inspection line, which houses a series of Omron FH-series vision systems to scrutinize the entire geometry of the product to ensure that they conform to the specified tolerances (as small as ±0.1mm and accuracy to 0.01mm).
